A great way to see the see the sites around Savannah is by boat. Amelia River Cruises will offer three Discovery Tours again this Fall featuring day-long excursions to unique destinations through northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. Featured trips include St. Augustine, Jekyll Island and Kingsley Plantation.
St. Augustine
The first cruise is St. Augustine on Friday, September 9th. This cruise features Historic Port of Fernandina, the entire western shoreline of Amelia Island, and the Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve. Enjoy views of vast marsh lands and a glimpse of the Kingsley Plantation along the way, before entering the Guana River Marsh Aquatic Preserve. Enjoy lunch at an old waterfront restaurant, Cap's on the Water, before sailing onto St. Augustine to enjoy time for shopping and sightseeing. Return that day via motor coach or book your own accommodations for the night and sail back the next day with Captain Kevin and his wife, Cecilia.

Jekyll Island
Thursday, October 13th, the Jekyll Trip offers a narrated tour hosted by Kevin McCarthy and wife, Cecilia, with lunch at the historic Jekyll Club, and trolley tour of the Cottages. Return transportation provided via Coast Georgia Charters and Tours.
Cruise the entire western shore line of Great Cumberland Island and explore less traveled backwater creeks with views of what remains of the Carnegie mansions along the way. Enjoy lunch at the Jekyll Club, Jekyll Island's only four star resort on Jekyll island, a National Historic Landmark, and once elite resort for members such as the J.P. Morgan, Pulitzer, Vanderbilt and Rockefeller families, to name a few.
After lunch, enjoy a tour of the Cottages and grounds before returning to Fernandina via Motor Coach.

Kingsley Plantation / Ft. Caroline
Thursday, November 10th, enjoy a scenic two hour cruise from Fernandina Harbor down the Intracoastal Waterway along the entire western shore of Amelia Island through the Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve. Tour the grounds of the Kingsley Plantation and the oldest surviving plantation house in Florida built in 1797, compliments of a National Park Service tour guide. Continue along the Fort George River for lunch at the Ribault Club built in 1928 for the affluent much like the Millionaires Club on Jekyll Island, Georgia.
After lunch, venture on as we sail to Fort Caroline National Memorial, the site of the restored fort constructed by the French Huguenot explorer Rene de Laudoniere in 1564 as one of the first permanent settlements in North America. Tour the fort with a narration by a National Park Service tour guide, before boarding a motor coach and heading for a final stop at the Ribault Monument atop St. Johns Bluff with a commanding view of the St. Johns River. Back onboard the bus you will make your return trip to Fernandina Harbor.
