Well the OSCAR nominees have been announced, and of course that means a list of movies that not a lot of people have seen. But AMC at Quail Springs Mall in Northwest Oklahoma City has the answer: The Best Picture Showcase.
AMC's Best Picture Showcase takes place over the course of two Saturdays, leading up to the OSCAR ceremony. This year the dates are February 18th and 25th. Four of the films nominated for Best Picture will be shown on the first day, with the rest shown the following week. AMC offers an affordable ticket price for this event: $30 dollars for the first day, $40 for the second, or if you opt to attend both days you receive a price break, and can enjoy all nine nominees for the price of $60 dollars.
February 18th Screenings:
War Horse
Moneyball
Tree of Life
The Descendants
February 25th Screenings:
Hugo 3D
The Help
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
The Artist
Midnight in Paris
Those who attend the showcase receive a free five dollar gift card for each day. Everyone who attends also receives a free poster featuring artwork of all nine films. If you are a member of the AMC Stubs reward program, you get an additional five dollars in Stubs Bonus Bucks for each day attended, when tickets are purchased in advance.
The event is usually rather entertaining as you get to enjoy these great movies with a host of other movie fanatics from the OKC Area. Trivia and prizes are typically offered between films, adding to the experience. So for all of you movie buffs who may have missed some of the smaller films on the ballot, this is a perfect chance to catch some of these films in theaters one last time. It also provides a perfect opportunity to watch them back-to-back to be able to properly compare them.
