Amber Portwood, the former "Teen Mom" that chose jail over more rehab for her own sanity is reportedly doing well. On Jan. 16 Wetpaint reports that Amber still hasn't gotten to see Leah since she's been in jail but she did get to talk to her on the phone when Amber called Gary to see how things were going.
It must be very difficult for Leah and Amber not getting to see each other, but Amber is doing well in prison; she joined the choir, she's clean and sober, and she might even be getting out early for good behavior. Amber has been in jail since June and while she is upset that Gary hasn't made good on any of his public statements claiming that Leah will get to visit her mother, at least she is allowed to talk to her on the phone.
Fans and family of Amber are upset that Gary hasn't taken Leah to visit her mother as it is important to maintain a relationship between the two when a child is young and a phone call every now and then simply isn't enough. Hopefully, Gary isn't pulling any stunts like he did during "Teen Mom" filming where he wouldn't allow Leah to speak to her mother when he was mad at Amber.
