Amber Portwood's brother gives update on the jailed 'Teen Mom'

On Jan. 21 Wetpaint shared a blog post from Shawn Portwood, Amber Portwood's older brother. He says that the jailed former 'Teen Mom' is doing well and talks to her daughter, Leah, every night. She still hasn't gotten to see her since she went to prison, but at least there is communication.

Amber has been doing the CLIFF drug rehabilitation program, as well as an anger management program and was even offered a leadership position with CLIFF. Shawn reports that he can see an improvement each time he talks to Amber. She isn't as angry and hasn't been swearing nearly as often and when she does, it isn't as vulgar as it used to be. In a recent letter that Shawn received from his little sister, she says that she tries to laugh or smile every day that she is in jail. She now feels a whole range of emotions instead of just feeling high.

The former "Teen Mom" star is getting her GED which is now a requirement of anyone in prison, she is also working a supervisor position within the jail and working on her post-prison career. On top of all that, she also sings in the choir. It sounds like she has a lot going on to keep her busy.

Are you impressed that Amber is doing so well in jail? Do you think that it's time that Gary bring Leah for a visit?
