Amber Portwood is dating again. However, her new man isn't her boyfriend quite yet.
In a new interview, the "Teen Mom" star opened up about the new love in her life. At the same time, she let fans know she and the mystery man are taking things slow.
"I have been talking specifically to one person and I really do feel like I love him, but we’re not together," Portwood revealed in a Sept. 1 interview with Starcasm. "We’re taking things really slow.”
On "Teen Mom," fans have watched as Portwood struggled in her relationship with her daughter's father, Gary Shirley, and while many hoped they would eventually work things out, they weren't able to do so. Instead, they both moved on and are now in a much better place with one another.
Although Portwood and Shirley will always have some drama between them, because of their extensive history, they are no longer romantic, and so far, they seem to be better off. Whatever keeps them from fighting is certainly a good thing.
“I have to get myself back in gear and tell myself, ‘Ok, I can trust men, I just have to not be naive,’" Portwood said of her trust issues. "That’s a problem that I have because I’m very naive when it comes to love…I do believe that I trust this man. I hope that I can trust him.”
Next year, Portwood and her "Teen Mom" co-stars, including Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout, will return to MTV for a fifth season. Former star Farrah Abraham will not be included in the series.
