A new member of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” is already involved in a fraud controversy because of accusations against her husband. Wetpaint reports on Wednesday that Amber Marchese’s husband has problems with his business, Mortgage Now, after an audit revealed issues with documents. The business has not been closed, and the reality show may shed more light on the accusations once the new season begins.

James Marchese also uses the nickname Jim, so there has been some confusion among fans related to the mortgage fraud news. However, James or “Jim” is the legal owner of the mortgage company in New Jersey and is married to Amber who is not his first wife. The issues are related to a previous audit that discovered the company was not complying with all of the regulations from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The audit of Mortgage Now revealed the business was not properly documenting some loans, and this led to an increased risk for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The audit also noted that quality control was a problem at the company because requirements from HUD were being ignored. Some of the details of the published report include accusations against the company for not analyzing or supporting borrowers’ income and not adding all recurring debts to an analysis.

Amber and Jim have not publicly responded to the mortgage issues, and it is not clear if Bravo will include all the details once the new season of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” begins in July. Amber is one of the new cast members who is being heavily promoted by the reality program, so the controversy may be one of the show’s publicity stunts. It does not appear that her husband’s company has been hurt seriously by the audit.
