Amber Laign got more attention when "Good Morning America's" Robin Roberts showed a photo of them on the program Monday as a couple together during a trip in Baton Rouge. On Dec. 29 Robin wrote a touching Facebook message and thanked her girlfriend, Amber, for being by her side while going through her health issues.
On Jan. 6 Us Weekly recapped what Robin said on "GMA" about her girlfriend on the air:
"The highlight [of my vacation] -- my dear niece Judith, her wedding. The family was all together in Baton Rouge over the weekend, and we have a family photo. Next to me is my girlfriend, Amber, and my sister-in-law, Cynthia, and my brother, Butch. And it was a glorious, glorious time that weekend."
When "GMA" co-anchor George Stephanopoulos commented how happy Robin looked in the photo with Amber, she admitted she has never felt as good as she does at this time.
"I have never been happier or healthier than I am right now," Robin responded.
Robin Roberts wanted to end 2013 by wishing everyone a Happy New Year while celebrating how well she was doing since being medically treated. She wanted to kick things up a notch by coming out and introducing Amber Laign as her girlfriend.
The "GMA" anchor definitely deserves a good dose of happiness after all she has been through.
