Amber Alert update: FBI, US Marshals join search for Zahra Baker (video)
An Amber Alert was issued for Zahra Baker on October 10, 2010, she was last seen by her stepmother, Elisa Baker early Saturday morning, at approximately 2:30 a.m.. Now, the Hickory Police Department in North Carolina have announced that the FBI and US Marshals have been brought into the case. Zahra’s father, Adam Baker and her stepmother, Elisa Baker have spoken with authorities and have not been ruled out as persons of interest in the case.
A press conference was held today and it was announced that there were inconsistencies in the stories Zahra’s parents have given authorities, but police are not releasing what that information is. On Sunday, Zahra Baker’s stepmother was arrested on unrelated charges dating back to 2002.
Zahra Baker is a cancer survivor and lost her lower left leg and hearing to the disease. She vanished without her hearing aids, indicating she did not leave willingly.

Zahra Baker is 5’1” has brown hair and blue eyes and weighs 85 pounds, she is 10-years-old.
