Amazon selling standalone white PlayStation Vitas

Here's a nice new year surprise: In a rather sudden development, Amazon has started selling standalone white PlayStation Vita handhelds. This is notable because the "Crystal White" Vita model has previously only been available in the U.S. as part of a bundle including Assassin's Creed III: Liberation; this is the first time it's been available outside of Japan as a standalone unit.

Stranger still is the fact that Sony has not issued any announcement or press release to go along with this, either.

The Crystal White PS Vita will run you $200. If you're interested, you might want to act fast -- since Sony hasn't provided any details about this, we have no idea how widely they'll be available and for how long!
