Android fans certainly have the pick of the crop when it comes to app stores on their devices, and Amazon is fighting hard to catch up to the millions of users that download apps from the Google Play store on a daily basis. On July 31 Engadget reported that Amazon will be giving away $100 worth of apps for free to anyone who wants to download them.

While the Amazon app store is the primary source for apps on Amazon based devices such as the Fire Phone, the Kindle Fire, and the Fire TV, anyone with an Android device can download the store to their tablet or phone, and they can then take advantage of the giveaways such as the ‘Summer of Self-Improvement Bundle’.

Amazon regularly hold promotions like the Summer of Self-Improvement Bundle along with offering one paid app for free every single day. The e-commerce giant sees it as a way to both thank Amazon users, and as a way to grow their presence within the Android marketplace.

The apps that are on offer today are personal enrichment applications such as Daily Workouts (a $4.99 value), White Noise ($1.99), Bills Reminder ($3.99) and Essential Anatomy 3 (a whopping $24.99 value), but there are also a couple of games for users to download too (Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing, and Carcasonne).

To download the Amazon app store to your non-Kindle device simply head over the Amazon website and download the application using the browser on your device. Users will have to go into their settings menu to check-mark the ‘Install from unknown sources’ option before they will be able to install the application, but after that using the Amazon app store is as simple as signing into your Amazon account.

Grab these free applications worth $100 soon, because Amazon will take down the promotion within the next two days. Whether you think you need some help with self-improvement or not, you might as well grab these fantastic apps while they are free.
