Amazon "Fire TV" launched to provide voice activated access to movies, TV, games

Amazon.com today introduced they have labeled “Amazon Fire TV”.This is a wireless receiver and converter device that delivers Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, Hulu Plus, WatchESPN, SHOWTIME, low-cost video rentals and more to any HD TV according to Amazon..

One of the most exciting features of Amazon Fire is that it has speech recognition for its 200,000 TV episodes and movies, millions of songs and over a hundred games. This prevents the ordeal of having to use a remote to go through a cumbersome menu system.

The introductory price for Fire TV is only $99 and free shipping is available. Overnight delivery to the Detroit area is possible.

In a separate release, Amazon also announced today an exclusive offering of the video game Sev Zero, available for Fire TV for just $6.99. the action game was developed by Amazon Games specifically for Fire TV.
