Amazon.com unveils $139 Kindle for pre-order
The Kindle has been selling better than hotcakes on Amazon.com -- and today, Amazon has given those like me wanting a Kindle even more reason to press that "add to cart" button.
Amazon had knocked the price of their cheapest Kindle down to $139, the lowest consumers have seen a new, unused Kindle being sold online by the retail giant.
Calling the $139 Kindle thinner, lighter, faster and better -- Amazon says "our all-new Kindle will be released on August 27th" and urges consumers to "pre-order now to ensure release date delivery."
Perhaps the big selling post is the ability to read over 9,000 blogs on the Wi-Fi device, as well as many newspapers before they hit the stands.
I'm starting to see the journalistic research benefits of owning one of these Kindles, and with the price knocked down to $139, I'm real close to hitting that pre-order add to cart button.
But more than that, I'd better get back to writing that book that will soon appear on Kindles and paperback versions on Amazon.com -- so I can make enough money to pay for the $139 Kindle bill when it comes in.

Oddly enough, when the iPad was introduced one of the first things I said was that their tagline should be:
"iPad. At least it will make the Kindle a lot cheaper"... Nice.
