Amazon.com sells out of Kindle priced at $139 and $189 - but $379 Kindle still in stock
No sooner did Amazon.com announce the $139 Kindle back on July 29, 2010 -- with that $139 version of the Kindle then available for pre-order along with the $189 version and the $379 version did customers pre-order so many Kindles that the cheaper two versions of the Kindles are now sold out.
Thankfully, Amazon.com says the sold-out condition of both the $139 and $189 Kindle versions is just temporary:
"Temporarily Sold Out. Order now to reserve your place in line," Amazon writes on the pages of their $139 and $189 Kindles.
"Due to strong customer demand, Kindle is temporarily sold out. Order now to reserve your place in line. Orders are prioritized on a first come, first served basis. Orders placed today are expected to ship on or before September 4th."
Apparently customers are loving the newly, cheaply priced Kindles -- along with the upgrades to technology that other versions didn't enjoy.
Of course, it's no wonder that the $379 version of the Kindle DX is still available as of this writing, waiting to be shipped off and in stock:
