Amazing wine to taste, Friday the 11th, Portland wine shops!

It’s 2013!!! Will this be an amazing vintage year for every single wine you love to drink???!! Sure. Well…

Tasting wine is about finding wines you love, as every year is a new vintage year, and new expressions of the grape soil, etc oh, and vintner,,, a new adventure!

Speaking of new adventures, we have three videos, all hilarious takes on starting and running a winery! First, the decision to start winery, second buying from a wine sales person, and lastly, a lesson on what wine really means to other earth. Enjoy these! But, if you don’t, watch again!

Sommelier starts a winery “It’s easy, ” Wine Sales 101 Part II “Wine sales people are known degenerates,” Sommelier learns about HR 1161 “Saving America’s Children”

We have some very, very, very nice tastings this week; Burgundies, Pinots, Piedmont and Tuscan Reds, and a Cab focused tasting, and many others, so please check out the list.. there’s even a nice Grenache and Syrah tasting!

It’s going to be cold, so red wine seems perfect, grab some friends and visit one, two or more local wine shops. Remember, wine tasting doesn't have to be about big wine consumption. There are many ways to taste while minimizing your actual consumption. Ask the shop you visit for suggestions; that’s part of their job, and the tend to love what they do!

Here’s this week’s slate of opportunities. Updates will be made so check back for complete information. Remember, taste wine safely! It’s the Oregon way!

And as there is always something hiding in the corners we want to share, expect a few bonus pours as well. As usual, our Friday Night Flights run from 4pm to 7pm or until the bottles are empty. “Cabernet sauvignon… is the American wine that most of us cut our red wine loving palates on. And you know, these are still pretty tasty bottles of red wine! I’ve gathered a few of my favorite players from north and south and I can promise you there will be something you will love here. I’m not rooting for either side to come out on top. I’m guessing like most of you I just want to drink really well at a reasonable price, and have some fun while I’m doing it. Hence…..”
