Animal welfare and police swarmed onto the property in Plant City, Florida to rescue twenty-six dogs that were in horrible conditions and being fought.
These poor dogs were chained up, wounded and emaciated living in plywood shacks.
These dogs showed joy and relief when officers removed their chains and took them away to the Hillsborough County animal shelter.
Charges will be filed against the owner of these dogs, but unfortunately their futures are uncertain.
When dogs are rescued from a fighting situation, it takes months to determine if they are re-trainable and adoptable. They go through rigorous testing to make sure they will not be a threat to a family or their existing pets.
These photos and video show these horrible condition, so please be cautious when viewing.
This makes me terribly sad to see, but one good samaritan reported this and these dogs will no longer have to live in filth without food, water and shelter.
If you would like to help these and other animals, please donate to the Hillsborough County animal shelter here: Hillsborough County Animal Services.
