That long awaited day has finally arrived. Amazing Stories, the first magazine originally dedicated exclusively to science fiction is back. With nearly sixty bloggers including authors, artists, collectors, editors, pod casters, designers and a few other members of the fandom, the spirit of the genre returns with a plethora of talent. Contributing writers from all around the world are on board, making this a worldwide endeavor. It’s true, the team really does circles the globe. As publisher Steve Davidson of the Experimenter Publishing Company resurrects the classic Amazing Stories, he acknowledges this extraordinary opportunity to work with such a diverse group by pointing out, “The sun never sets on the Amazing Stories blog team!”
Hugo Gernsback founded Amazing Stories back in 1926 with an appreciation of writers with a “knack of imparting knowledge, and even inspiration, without once making us aware that we are being taught.” This is one of the key elements in maintaining the fandom of science fiction, even today. In the very first issue, Gernsback noted, “How good this magazine will be in the future is up to you. Read Amazing Stories—get your friends to read it and then write us what you think of it. We will welcome constructive criticism - for only in this way will we know how to satisfy you.” The new Amazing Stories website hopes to gain the same kind of fan appreciation and participation as the original publication - more if possible.
The topics and blog content is intended to encourage discussions in or relating to Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. This does not mean the subject matter will not stray occasionally - as long as the material maintains the fandom of Amazing Stories. Finally, there is a forum of the people, by the people and for the people who eat, sleep and breathe the love of SFFH. Amazing Stories are just one click away! TM.
Membership is free – and entitles members to participate in the discussion, share information and engage in many other familiar social networking activities.
Notably, all contents of Amazing Stories are free to the general public.
