Zev Glassenberg and Justin Kanew were eliminated from “The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business” on the first half of Sunday’s episode, just missing the final leg of the race. The team struggled with the leg’s challenges and was noticeably devastated when they saw the team ahead of them leave for the pit stop. They pair never gave up, though, pushing themselves until the very end and enjoying a drink together to celebrate their efforts in the race.
Zev and Justin were first featured on season 15, finishing ninth after a mix up with their passports.
Rio de Janeiro
Flight Time and Big Easy were the first team to leave the pit stop. Once at the airport, they booked a flight that would land at 7:30 a.m.; Zev and Justin, who were right behind them, booked the same flight. Jen and Kisha and Gary and Mallory almost booked a flight that wouldn’t land until 10 hours later but were tipped off about another option by the suspicious look on Big Easy’s face when the pair was asked if they (Flight Time and Big Easy) had booked another flight. While the team was the first to book the flight, once in Rio they were stuck with a slow cab driver and missed the train everyone else took to the next clue; karma for not telling the teams about the earlier flight? Possibly.
‘Masterchef’ season two premiere date released
For the leg’s Road Block, one person from each team had to dress in traditional Carnival attire and learn to Samba. Zev really struggled with this challenge, particularly struggling with nailing the rhythm of the dance. Once the teams completed the Road Block, they traveled to a nearby spa to endure 15 minutes of body waxing – painful but hilarious to watch, especially Zev and Justin who had the chest hair of a grizzly bear to remove. Oh, the screaming!
The Rio Detour challenged the teams to either make 100 acceptable Caipirinha or roam the beach looking for women to buy and model $60 USD worth of bikini tops. Zev and Justin were the only team to choose the sales challenge, and while the tried their hardest, not one person wanted to buy a bikini top. The decision forced them to switch Detours and pushed them pretty far behind the other teams.
