Anyone in Chinatown this weekend is in for a treat. The Jim Muse Furtado United School of Martial Arts Kung fu and Fitness Academy will be at the 114th Annual Golden Dragon Parade & Chinese New Year Festival this Saturday February 16th.
The school, located in Whittier, CA, is filled with extremely talented and gifted martial artists and they will be showing their skills to the community during the festivities.
The school will be demonstrating their martial arts skills during the parade which will be held on Saturday the 16th from 1pm – 3pm.
Grandmaster Jim Muse Furtado is a seventh degree black belt and teaches traditional martial arts training to his students. Jemma Bosch, a long time student of Grandmaster Jim Muse Furtado and a 2nd degree black belt, thoroughly enjoys the training. “Martial arts has helped guide me through life”, says Bosch. “It has helped me spiritually, mentally, as well as physically.”
The festival will be held on Saturday February 16th and Sunday the 17th from 10am – 9pm at 715 N. Hill St. Los Angeles, CA. 90012.
The entry is free and there will be something there for all ages to enjoy. Patrons can enjoy a plethora of food trucks or take part in different arts and crafts workshops.
Live music will also be available for the public to enjoy at the festival.
