Amazing Grace, definitive LOST Promo 3

LOST S6 banner posted on the ABC offices in New York

In response to yesterday’s Examiner article questioning whether the Amazing Grace promo was fan-made, it turns out that it is, indeed, a legit LOST promo from ABC (#3 so far for Season 6). Special thanks to KateSawyer4 for her comment.

The quality first posted on YouTube was questionable, and even cut off the critical closing words “I see” from the Willie Nelson version of the song. This cleaner HQ version is very telling … and it looks like Darlton may be giving us a little something (with no new footage necessary) after all!
[Thanks to DocArzt for the video]:

Break it down line by line:
Amazing Grace! – Jack amid the chaos and destruction of the crash of Oceanic 815
(how sweet the sound) – Kate
That sav’d – Hurley at Libby’s grave, then Ben
a wretch like me! – Ben, then transitioning to Sawyer
I once – Claire
was lost, – Locke (or Flocke?)
but now – “The Beginning of The End”
am found – Jack’s eye opening (scene from the pilot episode)
Was blind, but now I see – “LOST, The Final Season, Tuesday, Feb. 2”

That last line, I believe, will be key to Season 6!  But as long as we’re analyzing the video, where are the other (still living) main characters who survived the crash? What’s up with Sayid, Sun & Jin -- interestingly, the same three who were the first to see the mysterious 4-toed statue? The reunion of Sun and Jin is certainly something I’m looking forward to in Season 6.

For anyone interested in further analysis, here are the subsequent verses of John Newton’s Amazing Grace which may also apply to what’s ahead for our LOSTies in the final season:

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!

Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.

Your opinion counts:  What do you think of this Promo?  Can Ben really be saved?  Does he deserve to be?  Where are Sayid, Jin and Sun?

    Thanks for the better quality version and the words. It definitely seems like a very appropriate song. Good point too - where are Sun and Jin and Sayid?
