The world teaches that man is just a highly developed primate that took millions of years through the process of evolution. They believe the first earth-man was actually an ape- man. But this is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible says that God formed the first earth- man (Adam) from the dust of the earth. "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7).
Adam was perfect in the beginning when he was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). His mind was pure. He was innocent before God. He was highly intelligent. Adam named all the "land animals" that God brought before him in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:19-20).
The first earth-man (Adam) bears a natural likeness to his Creator. By this, it is meant that just as God is a person in the fullest sense of the term, so man is a personality as well. A being who is a person possesses such qualities as the freedom of choice, self-consciousness, and the ability to reason. These qualities are not shared by animals, but they are shared by man and his Creator.
The first earth-man (Adam) bears moral likeness to his Creator. By this, it is meant that just as God is Holy and Righteous, so man was created with the capacity for knowing the difference between right and wrong. This quality, once again, is not shared by the animal world. An animal may kill a man, but it cannot be held accountable as a murderer. The moral makeup of man, however, is different. Man does have the capacity for knowing the difference between right and wrong, and therefore can be held accountable for his deeds. This quality is one which man shares with his Maker.
The first earth-man's (Adam) physical form without question was the most perfect and most beautiful of all of God's Creation. And it would seem that man's physical body must have had as its pattern something in the mind of God. How can this be, when God is pure Spirit and has no body? But God the Father came in the flesh as the Lord Jesus Christ and He came as a man whom He created in the beginning. In Corinthians 15:45, 47, the Scriptures tells us about the two Adams, "And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam was made a quickening spirit ... The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven."
The first earth-man (Adam) was at first alone but God made him a companion from his rib (DNA), the first women (Eve). "And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept : and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof: And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh : she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man" (Genesis 2:21-23). Interesting note, this is where man got the idea about anesthesia and cloning.
The first earth-man (Adam) died when he was 930 years old. But what he left us was two horrible problems : sin and eternal damnation. But the One who created the first earth-man (Adam) loved us so much that He came to earth as God manifest in flesh (Lord Jesus Christ)(I Timothy 3:16) and shed His precious blood on the cross, was buried and 3 days later He arose from the dead. His death and resurrection bought eternal life for all who trust in Him (I Corinthians 15:1-4).
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).
