The tweet said the break was a mutual decision, noting, “After a lot of thought and discussion, McCrae and I have decided that it’s in both of our best interest to continue our relationship as friends. There is no ill will, he is a very important part of my life, and I will always love him, and what we shared. Thank you for respecting our decision.”
The couple began their relationship early on in the last season of “Big Brother,” with Amanda seeming to initiate the pairing as she made her way into McCrae’s bed after he won the first Head of Household competition.
Nevertheless, throughout the show their bond appeared strong and the two even held a fake “Big Brother” marriage during the show to celebrate their relationship.
So far, there’s been no indication of anything in particular that led up to the split, however, McCrae ‘s home is in Minnesota and Amanda’s is in Florida, so it may have been the distance that finally did them in.
McCranda had made it known that they desperately wanted to participate in another CBS reality show, “The Amazing Race," this it was suggested by a guest on the Feb. 1 episode of Your Reality Recaps, James Wallington, who appeared on the CW show "Capture," that the couple may have lost a bid to be on the series, thus leading the the pair to eventually drift apart.
For now, Amanda and McCrae seem to be keeping things amicable on social media with no digs or jabs at one another, thus maybe their decision to remain friends will hold true.
