Amanda Knox coroner: Case updated by British coroner, is Knox reacting?

The Amanda Knox case's latest development is a coroner from London examining Meredith Kercher's body. Kercher was the woman killed by Knox and two other males, according to Italian courts. The British coroner said the woman's death was “clearly unnatural.”

The Epoch Times reported March 25 that in 2009 Knox, her ex-boyfriend, Rafael Sollecito, and Rudy Guede were guilty of murdering Kercher. A higher court in Italy overturned the verdict, but the nation's Supreme Court reinstated the verdict in early 2014.

The coroner in the Amanda Knox case, Dr. Roy Palmer, said Tuesday that he'd remained in contact with Kercher's family. He said they wre "keen for closure" after "all these years."

“She died, the autopsy tells us, as a result of haemorraghic shock from stab and incised wounds to the vasculature of the neck. I do conclude that she was unlawfully killed,” said Dr Palmer.

“On the night of the first and second of November 2007 Meredith was found in her bedroom at a residence in Perugia, Italy. It was clearly an unnatural death.

“Three individuals were arrested and tried. One male was convicted and did not appeal. The other two were convicted and appealed and the present position I believe is that there are further proceedings currently in Italy.”

The Amanda Knox case coroner update is keeping this story strong in the spotlight.

Updated: March 28, 2014

Amanda Knox hasn't reacted to the coroner's report, but she has remained active on Twitter -- sharing images of her photo safari from her blog -- and posting a comment March 28 that read: "Reliance on confession instead of objective evidence leads to wrongful conviction around the world."

Knox highlighted an article about a man on death row in Japan being wrongly convicted. It was believed police investigators fabricated evidence against him.
