Amanda King brings Jazz Country and a very special guest to SF Society Cabaret

Chanteuse Amanda King will be giving a performance at 8:00 pm Friday July 18th at the Society Cabaret in the Hotel Rex at 562 Sutter Street in San Francisco. We are always in good hands with Amanda at the microphone as she strolls onto a stage utterly bewitching and with the smile of an angel that promises something unique. And, singular it is. Never mind the frequent comparisons to some of our greats, Amanda is 100% Amanda. Her intelligence is her own spotlight.

It is not to her credit the powerful genetic gift she has, but it is definitely to her credit what she does with it and how she has grown into her own style. Amanda, daughter of an opera singer, came to San Francisco to take her art into her own direction, to pursue a career as a jazz singer. She found the road bumpier than she had envisioned. Having come through a time of post-divorce homelessness, she has maintained a touching and conscious gratitude for every blessing bestowed upon her and is ever committed to giving back to the people of Rafael House who helped her when she and her son needed it most.

To hear Amanda talk about her family, her music, her son and her journey always in progress is to learn something about life lived beautifully. To hear Amanda sing is a pure gift. Amanda is an extraordinary blend of force and humility; she has the power to know who she is and what she has to give while never putting herself in the center of any universe.

Amanda's upcoming concert will be a combination of Country & Jazz, which are, as you will see through Amanda’s exceptional talent and profound understanding of music, more related than you may have thought, each having exquisite melodies, the ability to evoke anguish and joy and, yes, those mesmerizing rhythms. There will also be a tribute to the singing cowboys and cowgirls of black western movie musicals and a very special guest. This is a rare and thoughtful production made for anyone with a yen for a creative musical adventure. Be there or be square!
