Amanda Jenkins takes Miss Nevada Teen USA 2013 Crown (Photos)

After days of rain in Las Vegas, the sun finally came out on January 27th, auguring what was to be a very bright day for Amanda Jenkins. The 16-year-old, representing Sparks, Nevada, was crowned Miss Teen Nevada USA that evening. The pageant, held in conjunction with the Miss Nevada USA pageant, was held in the Aretmus Sam concert hall of UNLV, and was attended by a crowd that filled almost all of the available seats.

The evening saw the end to the reign of Katie Eklund, Miss Nevada Teen USA 2012, although she promises to return to compete in a subsequent Miss Nevada USA pageant. Katie was clearly overcome by the emotion of the moment, and was not afraid to let it out.

First runner-up was Alexis Hills, second runner-up Aaliah Norman. The People's Choice winner, Marilyn Kennedy, took third runner-up, and fourth was Zoe Waites. Haley Sosa won a $500 prize as Miss Photogenic.

Amanda will represent Nevada in the national pageant this summer, at a location to be announced.
