Freshman Amanda Hotham came off the bench to spark the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) Owls to a 75-71 victory over Thomas College on Sunday afternoon.
Hotham scored 12 of her 15 points in the final eight minutes including hitting a shot with just under two minutes remaining in the game to give the Owls their first lead of the game.
The Terriers had a 71-70 lead with 30 seconds left on the clock. That is when Emily Pelletier hit the game winning three pointer to give the Owls a very exciting victory.

Olivia McNally recorded 15 points and seven assists for the Owls. Randi Kaplan chipped in with 14 points. Pelletier added 10 points.
Megan Pelletier scored 22 points on 8-11 shooting to lead Thomas. Ashleigh Gagne (14), Katie McAllister (12) and Emilee Reynolds (11) also finished in double figures for the Terriers.
UMPI (4-9) will travel to Bangor for a 5:30 p.m. contest against Eastern Maine community college on Wednesday, January 16th.
Thomas (3-10) will host Maine Maritime on Thursday, January 17th at 5:30 p.m.
