An Amanda Bynes rehab stint has begun as the former actress has left the UCLA psychiatric center for The Canyon rehab facility. According to TMZ on Sept. 30, The Canyons is a rehab center for celebrities.
This doesn't really make much sense. While Bynes has long been accused of substance abuse problems, the UCLA medical stay proved that her problems are more psychiatric than drug induced.
Bynes was found mentally unfit to stand trial and was found to have mental illness that caused paranoia and schizophrenia. Her attorney asked for an 18-month postponement last week so she could undergo psychiatric treatment. There were thoughts that her mental health stay could last well into 2015.
Her mother went ahead and dropped her conservatorship case because the doctors at UCLA placed all of Bynes medical and financial decisions in her mom's hands anyway, making the conservatorship unnecessary.
The Amanda Bynes rehab stay began three weeks ago and rarely interacts with anyone. There is the chance that she is there to completely kick her drug habit and then could return to the UCLA mental health facility to continue her treatments once that obstacle is overcome.
The Canyons is the same rehab center where Brooke Mueller was staying when an employee allegedly sold confidential information which resulted in a major lawsuit.
