The formerly troubled actress, Amanda Bynes, is done with her court ordered involuntary mental evaluations and inpatient treatment at a Malibu rehab facility after suffering a very public and bizarre meltdown which culminated with her starting a small fire in a driveway outside a residence in Thousand Oaks, Calif. in July.

PEOPLE reported on Dec. 5 that 27-year-old Amanda is “feeling better every day” and continuing her recovery at her parents’ home in the greater Los Angeles area.

Lawyer and spokesperson for Bynes, Tamar Arminak, said in a release that “Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who's contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda's recovery."

And she’s looking forward to college.

"She's now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design," the statement continues.

"She's mentioned before she's interested in creating a clothing line."

Reality TV World reported today that Amanda is already enrolled in two classes “at the Orange County campus of California's Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.”

Supposedly, she registered at the private design school under an alias.

Amanda’s mother, Lynn Bynes, was granted legal control over her daughter’s well-being and legal affairs in Oct.

Amanda was spotted by TMZ and Us Weekly yesterday walking the family pups in her parents’ Thousand Oaks’ neighborhood. She stayed her course and barely interacted with the paparazzi, although her mother did flash a smile for the cameras on occasion.

Bynes also revealed her new, shorter and darker locks as she walked down the street. The “She's the Man” actress not only chopped off her long hair for a significantly shorter cut, but dyed her signature blonde locks to black.

She tied her hair back into a tiny ponytail as she was photographed at a medical center near her family's home.

The recovering starlet was also spotted at a nearby hospital, presumably for a regularly scheduled class or meeting, where her parents picked her up after her three hour stay.

Amanda is due back in court in 2014 on DUI charges filed against her following her April 2012 DUI arrest.
