Amanda Bynes’ mother Lynn has withdrawn her request for conservatorship for her troubled daughter. On Sep. 26, Radar Online reported that the hearing scheduled to take place on Monday has been removed from the calendar.
Lynn’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, apparently “notified the court on Thursday morning that the petition was being withdrawn. There will be no hearing on Monday.”
The news comes as a shock given Amanda’s alleged mental state. What's more, the website reports there was no information given as to why Lynn has decided discontinue the petition to obtain conservatorship of the former Nickelodeon star.
Just days ago, Amanda’s criminal defense lawyer, Richard Hutton, told a judge the 27-year-old was not mentally fit to stand trial in her DUI case.
Amanda was placed on a temporary conservatorship after starting a small fire in the driveway of a house near her parents’ home in Southern California.
The retired actress is currently in psychiatric care at a Los Angeles area hospital.
