Amanda Bynes has formally been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder according to Perez Hilton on October 2. Amanda’s mother Lynn had suspected early on that there was a severe mental health disorder prior to her diagnoses at UCLA Medical Center. According to a source, Amanda’s parents have had a difficult time dealing with their daughters mental health issues.
Doctors reveal that Bynes can lead a long, normal, healthy life so long as she take her medications. Doctors are still working with Amanda to get her to respond to treatments. And despite having to move her treatment to a facility in Malibu, reps for Bynes insist the move was not due to finances but because the facility specializes in her very complex disorder and double diagnoses.
Amanda’s parents released a statement via their attorney, Tamar Arminak thanking fans for their continued love and support:
“Currently, upon recommendation by the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles. Amanda is making great strides towards recovery. The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda’s health and well-being. The Bynes family would also like to thank all of Amanda's supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," as posted by X17Online.
Mental health comes with a serious price tag. We here at Detroit Celebrity Examiner are happy to know that Amanda Bynes is getting the medical attention she had needed for so long and we hope she is well on her way to recovery.
