Cleveland.com reports that County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty asked the court to have the minor child's name removed from court records in an effort to respect her right to privacy.
Amanda Berry's bravery on May 6 not only led to her rescue, but also the rescue of her young daughter, and to the rescue of Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus. Berry, Knight, and DeJesus were all kidnapped close to a decade ago by Ariel Castro, and held captive inside his home.
Shortly after the women were rescued, DNA test proved that Ariel Castro fathered a daughter with Amanda Berry. The child was reportedly born in Castro's home without the assistance of a medical professional.
After his arrest, Ariel Castro petitioned the court asking for visitations with his Berry's daughter, but his request was denied.
Ariel Castro pleaded guilty to 329 charges that include kidnapping, rape, and aggravated murder on July 26, and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 1,000 years on August 1.
Castro was reportedly found hanging from a bed sheet in his prison cell on September 3, and was later pronounced dead.
