Alyssa Milano is fuming after comedian Jay Mohr fat-shamed her after seeing her at a NASCAR event.
Mohr suggested in a radio interview that Milano looked a little chubby, especially in the stomach area. Mohr also said Alyssa had let herself go after having a baby in 2011.
"She's very tiny, in height," said Mohr. "It seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don't really give a s--t.' I read it on her gut. Somebody sat in the director's chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, ‘Jesus Christ.'"
In response, Milano tweeted, "So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife [Nikki Cox]."
Alyssa received a flood of supportive tweets from her followers, who called Mohr "an idiot" and reassured her she was beautiful and definitely not fat.
Mohr has since apologized on Twitter, insisting it was all a joke: "She's stunning. I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have [been] taken as a joke. #fail.
The next day, Alyssa accepted Jay's apology, tweeting: "Thank you. Apology accepted. (She grunts while aggressively yet cautiously prying off her head-to-toe Spanx). #PassTheCookies "
Earlier this year, Milano revealed she lost 45 of the 55 pounds she gained a year after giving birth to son Milo in August 2011 by following a mostly vegetarian diet, walking and doing yoga.
While she's happy to have regained her pre-baby body, the 5-foot-2 Alyssa said she had no desire to resort to extreme dieting or excessive exercise just to fit into a bikini.
“Our bodies are not made to look good in a string bikini!” said Milano, 41. “Our bodies are made to nurture and cuddle and all of those amazing things that come along with being a mom. I still have a muffin top!"
