Alyssa Milano signs trading cards for Panini America (Photos)

Alyssa Milano is not your run of the mill celebrity fan. As a diehard fan of the New York Giants (NFL) and the Los Angeles Kings (NHL), she is somebody that can hang with even the most ardent of followers, sometimes even surpassing them because she actually has the juice the mingle with the players.

Panini America is celebrating Milano's fandom and capitalizing on her image by including her signature in some of their most popular products. Collectors who were opening packs of 2011 National Treasures Football and 2011-12 Pinnacle Hockey were probably shocked to see redemption cards for their Fans of the Game inserts featuring Milano and they were probably even pleasantly surprised to see that the redemption was going for as much as $125 on eBay.

Milano has signed the cards and sent them back for Panini to deliver them to collectors who have been waiting patiently for them. But this will not be the end of the collaboration as Panini plans to release trading cards featuring her in both upcoming basketball and baseball products as well.

As part of my continued service to the community, each day we will feature a different image gallery that highlights some of the finest cards that the industry has to offer. It might be from sports or even comic books or possibly movies or it might be something out of the ordinary and maybe even borderline absurd. But what matters is that people get to know about these cards and get interested in the hobby like I am. We'll be back soon for another gallery, but check out our other Card of the Day features with Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Blake Griffin.

Juan can remember a trading card gone by the same way wine connoisseurs can recall an exquisite vintage; it's all in the smell. Either that or he just looks at the back of the card for the copyright print. Juan also moonlights as the Classic Game Examiner and be sure to check out his Twitter...
