Alyssa Bustamante, 15, has been charged as an adult for strangling and stabbing the little girl. The teenager waived formal arraignment and her attorney entered a plea on her behalf.

Previously, Bustamante confessed to strangling, stabbing, and cutting Elizabeth's throat. She claimed to have done so to see what it would feel like. In addition, it was reported that she allegedly planned the crime, digging two graves a week prior to the horrific crime.

According to Connect Mid-Missouri, Bustamante sat in silence, wearing a green jumpsuit and looking down.

If convicted of Elizabeth’s murder, the harshest sentence Bustamante can receive is life without the possibility of parole. Under Missouri law, because she is less than age of 16 years of age, the death penalty cannot be sought against her.

Bustamante is scheduled to be back in court on Feb. 16, 2010, for a status hearing.

This little b**** makes me furious! I'm all about not judging people until I see some damn good evidence proving other wise. This little crazy brat killed that innocent, precious child and copped to it. How would she know her throat was slit, and how would she know where she was buried? There's a SLIGHT possibility that her stupid boyfriend may have helped or even did it. This little b**** needs to pay one way or another and needs to get some serious psychiatric care!

Frankly, given the nation-wide, if not world-wide distribution of this story and the subsequent public comments, I wonder where they think they could go where they could find a more neutral audience. They'd be better off staying put. At least Bustamante might have some allies there.
