God is with you always. This is one of His dearest promises, yet one that is perhaps the most difficult to believe at times. It is easy to believe God is with you when times are good. When struggles come, however, it is much easier to go into panic mode and feel abandoned. One of the reasons it is easier to panic and feel abandoned is because that is the way of the world. We live in a world where conditions are placed on being loved and accepted.

Yet the Bible teaches us differently. “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8: 38-39.

How amazing is that! It doesn’t matter what you have done. It doesn’t matter what your tragedy may be. God is right there with you. Even in the darkest hour of your own death, God is with you. He gave His only son so that you might have eternal life. A God such as that will never abandon you. Even if you don’t “feel” God with you, trust in his word. He is there. Your struggle will help you to recognize your dependency on a Heavenly Father, drawing you nearer into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
