Coming from the popular bar chain – which has bars from Vegas to Boston – McFadden's in Rockville Centre lives up to its reputation. The cute girls dancing on the bar, the deafening (but fun) music, the lively crowd, and the omnipresent shot girls are all there. But aside from the $4 Jell-O shot offerings every 15 minutes, McFadden’s is another bar in RVC that will have you thinking, “Man, that was an awesome time.”
Depending on the night – and there has not been a real pattern since the bar’s novelty has worn off– the line to get in can either be absurdly long or nonexistent (a good rule of thumb is to get there before 10:30pm, though). After a $5 cover, and if it’s cold, a coat check, you’re inside.
Around midnight, the bar and the dance floor fill up as the DJ, who is there several nights a week, plays all types of new music – hip hop, rock, pop, house – and old favorites. A main bar with plenty of bartenders, and a rear “Beer Stand” (if you will) make it easy to get a drink for the duration of the night. Prices are reasonable, too: $4 beers and $5 mixed drinks. With specials virtually every night of the week, a Two-For-One Friday Happy Hour, and 18 TVs, McFadden’s is more than just a place to sing, dance, and have a blast on Friday and Saturday nights.
As far as transportation to and from the bar, a cab stand below the Rockville Centre Train Station is a 5 minute walk away.
