Milpitas, CA (March 14) – The City of Milpitas will open its latest park, the Alviso Park, with various amenities for the residents’ enjoyment on Saturday, March 16, 2013, according to Renee Lorentzen of the city's Parks and Recreation Services.

The park is located at 2087 Alviso Adobe Court on Piedmont Road and Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

The opening ceremonies will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m., rain or shine. Milpitas is known for over 25 park locations with Cardoza Park as the largest. This 10-acre park features a lighted ball diamond, two horse shoe units, volleyball poles, and an outdoor amphitheater. This is a great location for functions which also includes 8 barbecue units, 19 tables, rest rooms, play equipment, and parking for 133 vehicles.

The city of Milpitas has also a Dog Park at Ed Levin County Park, which park is owned and managed by the County of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department.

If you love the outdoors, Milpitas is a place for you. The over 25 park locations have amenities like softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, handball courts, bocce ball courts, volleyball standards, horse shoe units, par courses, and barbecuing.

The City’s Parks and Recreation Services provide maintenance services and facilities park rental agreements.
