Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's will be at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater for two weeks beginning Wednesday, June 11th. Ailey will host a free workshop - Revelations Celebration on the Plaza at 5:30pm. Immediately after the workshop will be the exciting Ailey Spirit Gala, a one-night-only benefit performance and party.

Revelations Celebration on the Plaza is a dance workshop for all ages, which showcases Alvin Ailey's classic American masterpiece. This is the 25th season since the renowned founder's death. Former Company member Nasha Thomas-Schmitt will lead this unique workshop, and will instruct attendees on movements from the sections of Revelations: "I've Been 'Buked," "Wade in the Water," and "Rocka My Soul."This dynamic even with feature live music with percussion and singers.

The inaugural Ailey Spirit Gala benefit performance kicks off at 7pm. Ailey dancers will perform parts of Wayne McGregor's Chroma, Aszure Barton's LIFT, and a new working of David Parsons' signature solo, Caught. Fresh faces and talents from Ailey II will perform an section from Jennifer Archibald's Wings. The young talented dancers from The Ailey School (ages 6 to 23) will show the audience what they got while performing Synthesis II. The dancers from AileyCamp will perform a a movement influenced by Ronald K. Brown's Grace. The finale, Revelations, will feature 50 of the present and future dance stars of Ailey. After the performance there will be an epic dance party on the promenade set to the tunes of celebrity deejay DJ M.O.S.
