Alvarez appointed to Airport Board

Mayor Bob Filner did not put off finding a replacement for Tony Young who served as a member of the Board of the San Diego Regional Airport Authority. Councilman David Alvarez today was given the appointment to the board seat.

His service will last three years into 2016.

The appointment of a city official to a seat fulfills the Mayor's responsibility to appoint one city official among his three appointments to the board. The other two appointments are confirmed by a majority vote of the city council.
