Alternative music spotlight: Them Crooked Vultures

After discovering who is in the band, it's obvious to see why Them Crooked Vultures are such a widely-discussed and talented band. As many already know, TCV consists of Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones from some obscure band called... Led Zeppelin. Jones' bluesy backgroud, Grohl's manic energy, and Homme's taste for the eclectic combine to form a sound and attitude that is representative of both classic and modern rock.

Though they only started recording in July 2009, they have already released a full-length self-titled album and have played in North America, Europe, and Australia as part of their Deserve the Future tour. Their first performance was in Chicago on August 9, 2009. Them Crooked Vultures made headlines after being the surprise performers at the Reading and Leeds Festivals last year in the UK.

Their first single "New Fang" was not even released before the band started touring. For many, the first exposure of the band was from the video clips of songs they posted on their official Youtube channel a couple of months before they began touring.

The next stops on their tour include a show at London's legendary Royal Albert Hall, a slot at Coachella in Indio, California, a few US dates, and several European festivals. Click here for more information about upcoming TCV gigs.
