New year, new outlook. Make that outlook rimmed in a beautiful new color. Try out something new. Break out of the routine, with great alternatives to the classic eye liners.

Black: Black is classic, a go to. Mineral Fusion Eye Pencil ($15) in Volcano is a ashy grey. It is less intense from black so it is great for light eyes or light skin.

Brown: During the day, brown is great for a casual look. Glam up the day with bronze like Glo-Minerals Jeweled Eye Pencil ($18) in Bejeweled Bronze. It is just a shiny brown that compliments the eye shadow and mascara you pair your brown with.

Navy: Navy is just one step from plum. Plum is a fresh take on a dark shade to change up deep pigments. Vincent Longo’s Crème Gel Eyeliner($25) in Velvet Plum is a eye liner pot. It is applied with brush and goes on smoother than silk.

Color: If you are already rocking the color try NYC Automatic Eyeliner Pencil ($2) in Brazen Blue. It does not lie, this bold blue is a great sky blue. It is eye catching and will garner a ton of compliments. For a bit of glam try silver and gold. Pair is with a bit of black liner for a great nighttime look. Topshop’s Eye Gleam ($18) in Winter frost is a cool silver that is great for the inner corners of eyes to highlight peepers. Gold Rush, Palladio’s Herbal Precision Eyeliner ($6) picks up the different flecks of color in your eyes and draws everyone glancing at you to you.

Have it all: If you want to try it all, buying individual colors can become expensive and take up a lot of space. Sonia Kashuk’s Eye Liner Palette ($14) in Lay It On the Line is perfect. There are six colors to choose from. Basically, you can wear a different color each day. Blend them to create custom colors. All you need is a eyeliner brush and a little water to apply.
