Death Grasp is one of several notable cards featured in the Sorin deck of "Duel Decks: Sorin vs Tibalt." Originally printed in "Apocalypse," this powerful and iconic rare gold sorcery spell has received a brand new updated artwork and the modern card frame.
Death Grasp - XWB
Sorcery (Rare)
Death Grasp deals X damage to target creature or player. You gain X life.
Plate mail, the skin of the chest, the rib cage, the heart--all useless against the mage who can reach directly for the soul.
One of the reasons Death Grasp was originally such a popular card is because it doesn't care what color of mana you used for X, whereas Drain Life would only allow you to gain life for each black mana used to cast the spell. Not only is Death Grasp a more powerful spell, it's much easier to understand than Drain life - which has had many confusing wordings.
This new alternate art modern frame Death Grasp is sure to become a highly sought after card for appropriately colored Commander decks.
How will you use Death Grasp?
