ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: Clinton Kelly donates $5,000 to ALS in honor of fans

Clinton Kelly has always been one of the biggest personalities on television. From fashion to food, Kelly is the guy you want telling you what to do. The newest craze sweeping across social media is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The object is to raise awareness and money while dumping a huge bucket of freezing water over your head. According to an August 17 Facebook post from Clinton Kelly, he challenged his fans to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, offering to donate $50 per person up to $5000. As it turns out, Kelly will be donating the full amount.

This disease was close to Clinton Kelly's heart. He explained that a very special lady in his life whom he called Aunt Elaine passed away recently from ALS. In fact, when he posed the challenge, each participant was instructed to say “Aunt Elaine, this one's for you” in order for the donation to be made. The gesture Kelly made for his fans is pretty amazing.

Other celebrities have been joining in on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Several of them have posted their videos across social media. According to a report today from E! Online, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Rita Ora, and Amy Schumer are the latest celebrities to share their videos. Fans are being encouraged by their role models, and many are following suit.

Since July 29, there has been $13.3 million donated for ALS. That is almost ten times more than what was received last year at this time. It is amazing what can happen when celebrities do their part and encourage their fans to step up. Clinton Kelly has always been known to do things a little over the top, and his gesture took the cake for celebrity involvement.
