GIGI HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!
Oh my goodness, have you every seen a sweeter face?
Gigi is a gorgeous standard girl with an affectionate personality. She gazes at her foster mom with adoring, soulful eyes that tell her story: She wants to be loved and treasured. Once she lets you into her heart, she will be yours forever, kissing you, cuddling with you and protecting you from harm.
Like many standard dachshunds, Gigi is affable and outgoing … as soon as she’s comfortable. Wary and a little shy at first, she soon warms up to visitors and comes looking for attention.
She isn’t a needy dog. If her people are busy, she isn’t pushy or demanding, she’s happy to entertain herself by napping in the sun or getting some serious sleep in her crate.
Gigi loves going for walks and has a little dance party when she sees her leash. Although she doesn’t play with toys or other dogs, she has two passions: chewing on her bully stick and hunting for squirrels. She has a strong prey drive, so we will not place her in a home with cats or other companion animals.
Gigi is fine with most other dogs—she lives in peace with more than a dozen dachshunds in her foster home—but every once in a while she meets a dog she attacks for whatever reason, usually as an overprotective gesture. For this reason, she needs to be an only dog.

We are looking for a strong owner who knows how to handle an adoring alpha bitch. We don’t want to place her in a home with young children, but she would be the perfect companion for an adults-only family or one with older teenagers.
