Singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc is "The Man" in the U.K. According to Reuters on Apr. 6, the up-and-coming musical artist has claimed his first solo U.K. No. 1 hit on Sunday, when his single "The Man" topped the British singles chart.

The 35-year-old Blacc, who became known as the voice behind the Avicii chart-topping track "Wake Me Up," sampled and pay tribute to Elton John's first U.K. top 10 single "Your Song." The single has been popular in the U.S. as well. "The Man" has been featured in Beats by Dre commercials featuring various athletes, including Richard Sherman, Kevin Garnett and Colin Kaepernick.

Blacc, whose real name is Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III, made his U.K. charts debut in 2011 with "I Need Dollar," peaking at No. 2 on the charts. He recently performed his hit singe live on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show," capping off a pretty good week for the singer.

Right behind Blacc on the U.K. charts is John Legend's "All Of Me," which climbed three places to challenge Blacc for the No. 1 spot.
