Today Wizards of the Coast revealed Alms Beast, a powerful new rare creature card from their upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Gatecrash."

Four mana for a 6/6 creature is extremely potent, despite it's "drawback." Even if an opponent nabs a few life from a couple of chump blockers, Alms Beast's large power will quickly erode it from their life total.
Should Alms Beast not scare your adversary enough by itself, try pairing it with Silverblade Paladin. Now that's one hell of a target for your Ajani, Caller of the Pride.
A well place Mutilate can clear your opponent's side of the battlefield for Alms Beast, and you could also consider splashing red for Skullcrack or Havoc Festival to prevent life gain.
