It seems like yesterday that the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival occurred in Somerville and Cambridge. Yet fast off the mark, the announcement that submissions for MassIFF are open was made a couple of weeks ago.
The Boston Film Industry Examiner covered the event last summer and it was what a film festival should be. True, I liked some movies better than others, but none were unworthy of inclusion. The people running it were serious about the business and the jury selections were all warranted.
So if you are a filmmaker looking to enter a festival, MassIFF deserves consideration.

Chris DiNunzio and Jason Miller who run the show are a great team. The mission statement is below.
As fellow filmmakers we at the MassIFF understand the importance of reaching the right audience. Our goal since starting the festival has been to give filmmakers the exposure they need to help their films find a wide and appreciative audience. We want to present a diverse group of films and filmmakers, and showcase the best in independent film. The Massachusetts Independent Film Festival, a festival by filmmakers for filmmakers!
