In case you couldn’t tell, this episode aired out of order. Initially, I believe, it was supposed to be the fourth episode. Personally, I am a fan of airing episodes in the order that they were meant to be seen. This episode still has John taking drugs and seeing the recollectionist. The side effects of the drugs are causing John to black out and have flashes of forgotten memories. He is also still investigating Anna and Insyndicate, and surprisingly he makes progress. Someone has been listening in on him while he is at home. It will be interesting to see when this pops back up. Any theories?

Two girls are found dead due to a drug overdose. This case is great for many reasons. One is that Dorian, John, and Valerie are all working this case together. Valerie is not off on her own only contributing briefly. She is a main investigator, and this is absolutely fantastic to see. The second reason why this case is great is because John sees his future in Lilah’s mother. If he continues to fixate on the ambush, he will end up in a dark place. The writers could have had John stop in any number of ways, but watching him hearing Lilah’s mom talk about rage and what it did to her was powerful. This way the writers can invoke an emotional response. Did you enjoy the case?

One thing that is unclear is whether or not Valerie being a chrome is common knowledge. Captain Maldonado knows, but seeing as how she is in charge, it would makes sense that she knows. John and Dorian don’t make any comment on Valerie being a chrome or even make a reference that they know. If it is meant to be a secret, it would have been interesting to explore why. When the one natural at the school makes a comment about Valerie, a chrome, being a cop, Valerie seems shocked that she is called out for being a chrome. This could be something that Valerie would hide or it is something that is not a big issue. It would have been better if the writers explained what the view on chromes is. What are your thoughts on Valerie?
