“Straw Man" is the season finale of “Almost Human.” Beware this article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode. To review the last case file, click here. "Almost Human" has yet to be renewed by Fox for a second season.

There are a lot of great things about this case. It has a personal tie to John, and it uncovers a giant conspiracy. However, this feels more like a midseason finale. Because it feels like there is more to this storyline than is solved in this episode. It seems doubtful that Glenn Dunbar arranged two cops to be killed in the line of fire. This sounds like a grand conspiracy. Do you think there is more to this case or do you think it is solved?

Here are quick thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. One of John’s father’s cases resurfaces. This allows the writers to explore more of John’s past. John opens up a lot more than he has this entire season. He talks about memories of his dad, and how he was the person to make John want to be a cop. Dorian is under review. It is great to see Maldonado, Rudy, and John talk about their experience with Dorian. What would have been better is if other cops such as Valerie and/or Richard Paul were involved, after all, Dorian interacts with a wide range of people. If an MX was interviewed, it could have been hilarious. What did you think of the episode?

Let’s chat about this season overall, shall we? It seems like the writers were expecting a full season order because the big mystery that the pilot introduces is never brought up again. John’s memories, Anna, and Insyndicate are in maybe two episodes. The same with Dr. Vaughn, who went over the wall with a bunch of synthetic souls. There are numerous mysteries that are never solved. They are intriguing too. This season overall had its ups and downs, but personally, I would love to see a season two. What are your thoughts on the season overall?
