Plastic surgery in the future in dangerous. Every time Eric finds a donor, they die. Why does he go around killing people for pieces of their face? He’s in love, of course. Oh, and he also was disfigured due to an experimental trial he participated in. There is an emotional aspect to this case, but it doesn’t get explored until the very end. It would have been better to have included this more throughout the episode. The writers take the time to show us scenes with Eric, but until the end with him instant messaging Judy, there isn’t a point to seeing Eric at all. It would have been better to focus on the investigation than to have viewers watching Eric get his surgery and find a new donor. Did you enjoy the scenes with Eric?

Last week’s episode left a lot of questions about Valerie. Thankfully, some of them are answered in this episode. Valerie being a chrome is not a secret in the precinct, and also, the chromes don’t understand why she is a detective. There are moments that hint at what caused her to become a cop, as well as hints that maybe Valerie’s family isn’t happy. This episode provides enough hints that not having the exact answers right now isn’t too terrible. Hopefully if we get a second season, the writers will delve more into Valerie’s family life and backstory that led her to become a cop. Did you love learning more about Valerie?

Poor John is struggling in the love department. He got holo-blocked on a date, and believes that technology is to blame. Dorian has a different idea. It’s a nice thought to touch on John’s lack of a love life, but the writers don’t connect it to his previous girlfriend Anna. You know, the one who was working with Insyndicate? That had to mess John up a bit, but it doesn’t come up in this episode. Instead, the writers give us humor. What did you think of this storyline?
