Fans of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are still buzzing about the December 16 episode, 'The Dinner Party from Hell.' Did careful editing on the part of Bravo make Camille Grammer's friend and party guest, Allison DuBois, appear to be intoxicated? Did they purposely cut out other housewives verbally attacking Camille and Allison to cast a bad light on both women?
Allison DuBois, a psychic who inspired the television show Medium, spoke to this Examiner recently and gave some insight about her experience on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
First and foremost, DuBois clarifies that she attended the party to support Camille Grammer. "I was not there for publicity, I was there for Camille. I've known Camille and Kelsey Grammer for 10 years and at their request I agreed to be there as a dinner guest to support my friend Camille who was losing sleep over her interaction with the other housewives. Unfortunately, being in the limelight put me in a situation where supporting a friend could only be done with a camera present."
Was she drunk? "It was a four hour dinner party. I had 2 to 3 cocktails in four hours and was most definitely not intoxicated. If it offended any fans I apologize."
DuBois also mentions that she has been asked what she was smoking, to which she responds, "I was smoking an electric cigarette--that was water vapor, not smoke."
Bravo seems to have edited the episode so well that it didn't show Kyle's friend, Faye Resnick, doing most of the yelling at the dinner party. That, according to DuBois, was cut along with other housewives attacking her and Camille. Instead the episode focused on making Allison appear drunk and Camille stirring up another cat-fight with Kyle.

Also not shown to viewers was the civil conversation that transpired between Kyle and Allison prior to the insult hurling at the table. "Bravo didn't show me talking to Kyle about her mother's cancer." says DuBois, "It was a friendly conversation that was completely edited out."
In addition, Bravo didn't care for the apologetic blog post that Camille Grammer wrote post-episode. They pulled it down, likely thinking it was going to reflect positively on her character. Perhaps 'nice' doesn't make ratings for Bravo.
Camille's blog post, saved prior to Bravo taking it down, gives her take on what stirred up the trouble at the party:
The party was going fairly well until Kyle walked in with her friend [Faye Resnick]. I just felt something was off when I greeted her friend and welcomed her into my home. I'm not sure if it was because she wouldn't look me in the eye or if it was just a change in the energy of the room. As the night progressed it became obvious she wasn't there for the food and sparkling dinner conversation. It appeared that she was stalking the perimeter of the conversation, just waiting for her chance to pounce. When she found her opportunity she kept antagonizing my guests and stirring the pot. Finally Allison had justifiably had enough. She felt the need to defend me as well as herself. She is a fiercely loyal protective friend and no shrinking violet.
I wonder how many people have actually succeeded in establishing the goodwill I had hoped for under such trying circumstances. That night all just went so horribly wrong. All I had to show for my good intentions and efforts were some fresh bruises for me, and many ruffled feathers for the housewives. I remember thinking to myself, Why did I agree to do this show? Is this as bad as it gets? It has to be, right? Again, How wrong was I?!!!
In closing, Allison DuBois maintains that her presence on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was intended to be purely one of support for her friend, Camille Grammar.
"These are real people with real lives. Bravo edits for ratings. Camille is a sweet person. I was not shown in the best of light, but I was there for her, not for publicity. You don't go on that show for good publicity."

if this story is true, how did some of those awful comments that came out of her mouth happen? edit? I think not. She said, I know when she will die and her children,, and I love that about me. How does that make you anything but a mean person. ? All those horrible eye squinting of sarcasm, I think Allison , that you were surprised at how many people were agast at you and don't want to even watch your canceled medium anymore. Allison only says the truth when it needs to be said. Sometimes the truth is ugly, but nevertheless, the truth.
I don't know what this Kim person is getting at, but Karen's comments weren't at anyone else's expense, it was an observation. Of course, the show is edited, but all of the editing in the world couldn't put the awful words that Allison Dubois spewed out into her mouth if she hadn't actually said them. We heard her say twisted, hateful things with our own ears. Yes, other moments were not included, but her statements were not invented in the editing room, they were just spliced together in a way that was anything but flattering to Allison Dubois, but she gave them the raw material to work with.
I agree with Karen and so do about 70 of my girlfriends( on facebook alone) Camille is a poor excuse for a girlfriend and is so fake ! I hear she will not be coming back next season, woohoo ! Its always someone elses fault when people get "bad press" .I came to that conclusion from what I have seen And NO I am far from being jealous or sad , all alone or just plain ol' angry. I am so disappointed. I guess being a very spiritual person I was disgusted to see her even on a show like that and found it abhorrent how egotistical she is. I went and watched other Allison DuBois interviews and she is extremely "pleased" with herself! I was a fan for years and was hoping to save enough for a personal reading someday. I would never now. She has BAD energy & I only trust HUMBLE people! She needs help. Even in standing up for a friend...it is ONE thing to be righteous & another all together to be downright petty & EVIL!

I was the HUGEST fan of the real Allison Dubois. I have adored her for years & I've read her books & idolized her.

I agree, I feel bad for Arquette for being linked to such a classless person. I always loved Allison DuBois thinking she was like the actress portrayed her. Absolutely fraud on the writers part. Talk about poetic license. They definitely cleaned her up for tv. Her worst career choice was going on the RHOBH no matter what the reason. Pathetic excuse for a woman. No editing in the world would have done what you did to yourself. Hmmmm, doesn't Camille blame the editing as well. Sounds like a pattern. I think Camille is right, maybe Kelsey knew what sleezy and cruel thing he was going to do by leaving her and pushed her to do this show so that America could see what kind of woman he was married to so that America wouldn't be soooo hard on him and forgive him a little bit easier. Some books have a really pretty leather binding but no real substance on the pages.
I have watched the episode with Allison three times now, all I can say it, I loved the show Medium, but knowing what type of person Allison truly is, I will never watch the show, nor will I ever think she is a decent human being. The statement she made about if one of their children goes missing....that was a horrible thing to say. Editing, I don't think so.

If Kyle and Faye weren't acting like catty teenagers it never would have reached that point. It's common decency to not whisper, insult, and side-eye people while they're talking as they were to Camille and her friends. Allison's behavior was wrong, but Kyle and Faye stirred the pot until it boiled over. They shouldn't be without at least some blame.
I do not understand why respected folks require to 'play nice' when others are openly hostile, and spew nonsense get attention.

I kind of almost feel bad for Allison. Camille apparently knows what happens when she drinks a lot, and given the tension between her an Kyle it kind of looks like Allison was used as a pawn... a 'sacrificial lamb', to use the woman's own words.

Allison went on the program to support a friend. I would expect no less from my friends. If I had to choose someone to be in my corner it would be Allison.
And I would do the exact same thing for a friend of mine. People need to start taking a long hard look in their own respective mirrors before hurling judgement. I am not biased one way or another--just wanted to give a different angle to a story that has been plastered all over the press as "negative"....I hardly think Allison needs people to adore her, she can hold her own. I just think Bravo needs to be transparent, but then again, these shows are all about ratings, not humans.
Allison was a pleasure to talk to on the phone--sharp, witty, direct, and kind. I grew up learning to say it like it is so I truly appreciate a woman who can do the same.
Seeing this deplorable side of Allison makes me wonder how many people she has been responsible for "putting away" in jail because she was supporting a friend. When she talked about the housewives children, "When their children come up missing, don't come to me." She was so genuinely callus. There are many other ways to support a friend with out going THERE.

Allison has tarnished her image. For that she should be worried. Her claim that her portrayal on RHBW was inaccurate and your statement that Bravo needs to be transparent would make it appear that perhaps you think her words were taken out of context or maybe they clipped and edited to form sentences.
Not buying it. Those words were coming out of her mouth. She clearly has a propencity to believe she is above people based solely on the idea that she can see what might happen to them in the future. She is a narcissistic, sadistic and egocentric. Which explains why she feels no shame.

Whilst I do not agree nor particularly like some of the things Allison said that fateful night at Camilles, I really feel the need to remind all the Allison haters here of these common human traits and afflictions;
1. Alcohol DOES NOT show ones true colours, it shows a loss of sense and of negates ones ability to judge things in the correct measures and responses.
2. A loving and true sister would never treat or let others treat their sister as Kyle has done so to Kim.
3. EVERYONE on this earth has at one time in their life acted or done something they deeply regret or are ashamed of..THIS IS CALLED BEING HUMAN!!!
I actually feel very sorry for Allison, as this has not been a private humiliation as 'normal' people would experience - this has been public humiliation to the word - millions. That would be very hard to live with.
As for several of the women at that table and on the show regularly, I think they are most selfish, cruel, egotistical and nasty humans to each other. KARMA...
Finally, I would hope that all the people that have taken the time to blog their anger at Allison, would be able to look at EVERYTHING they have said, done or even thought towards others and then perhaps reflect on being so hateful to someone they dont personally know and have some compassion and understanding that we all screw up at one point, they only things that differs is the degree off it.
I have defended Allison from the beginning. Bravo is just like any other tv station that will do anything just to get ratings. I admit, I have much better things to do and a well stocked library that keeps me from watching the Real Housewives of ANYWHERE. But I've watched Medium and read Allison's books, so I checked out the hooplah. I admit. I've had a long time habit of going for the jugular when attacked. It isn't pretty or nice, but it makes the bullies leave me alone. So, if that is how Allison Dubois felt, I've been there before. It just happened on a television show with her. She is human. People can be kind and they can be mean. But they are always just human.

I just now saw the "Dinner Episode" tonight and I can easily say shame on anyone that believes the way you do. Gross and distasteful. No one was in the right, but this so-called "medium" is down-right hilarious and as white trash as they come. I've not seen Medium once and I am super thankful. I can't believe ANYONE would ever think that Camille needed support or defending by Allison Dubois!
